I’ve played on many types of basketball goals and I have to say that I prefer the Fixed In-Ground like in the college and professional leagues. They are just more durable and more reliable. Apart from that, they are appropriate for basketball systems outdoors, if you are planning on an installing in your home or local area. The prices for Fixed In-Ground goals are priced roughly a little less than $2,000 and that usually doesn’t cover the expense of installation!

Roof mounted rims and systems are my least favorite but they work well for shooting around and skill building however not enough for 5 on 5 games. The adjustable in-ground goal system is not bad at all, however, like I mentioned before, I like having my basketball goal system regulated to top standards every time I hit the court!

This new video game is being hailed by many as containing one of the most realistic depictions of athletes ever in a video game. The faces of the basketball players, their tattoos and accessories look more realistic than they have ever done before in this type of game and this should really impress those who play it. Even though the animations in previous NBA 2K games have been really good quality, those in the 2K12 edition are said to be even better. This, coupled with the realistic look of the basketball players should make for a really great gaming experience for players.

Another feature that has been improved is the coaching staff, including the assistants. Bob McAdoo and Ed Pinckney have been altered so that their appearance is more accurate than before, which emphasises the authentic atmosphere of the game. If someone has just been playing something different like partypoker and decides to have a go at this game for the first time, they will surely be pleasantly surprised at the new features. It is noticeably different from the previous NBA 2K games and the feelings of reality that it suggests are likely to be unexpected.

Players of this new game are also given a lot more freedom and control than they have in previous versions. While there used to be complaints that one stick movement would create three animations in the athletes during things like dribble and shot animations, this year’s edition is said to fix that issue. Similar to the 2K10 edition, players now have more control over the athletes.

The ball in this game is always moving, with interaction constantly going on with it. Movements can change quickly and a dribble can become a deflection. The collision detection with ball and body has an unprecedented level of detail and this game looks to be a great new edition to the NBA 2K series.

It is a wonderful thing to be able to play overseas and live your dream of playing professional after college. However, just like anywhere your safety and life is never guaranteed. American player Chauncey Hardy was a victim of assault and died after being attacked in a bar in Romania after a team victory on October 9th 2011.

Former Sacred Heart guard Chauncey Hardy died after being attacked in a bar in Romania.

Romanian Basketball Federation chief Carmen Tocala told GSP radio that Hardy died Sunday, suffering two heart attacks following his beating Saturday night.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a fine young man who had his life cut short at such a young age while he was overseas doing something he loved,” Sacred Heart Athletic Director C. Donald Cook said in a statement.

Police spokeswoman Mirela Gheta said the 23-year-old Hardy had severe head injuries and was in a coma when he was admitted to the hospital.

Hardy died shortly after undergoing surgery in a Bucharest hospital.

Hardy played for CSS Giurgiu in southern Romania and was celebrating a victory over rival Dinamo Bucharest in Giurgiu when several men were reported to have attacked him.

“This is a terrible tragedy and we are saddened as a University and a basketball program,” Sacred Heart men’s basketball coach Dave Bike said in a statement. “This is not just about a basketball player, but the person as well. It transcends what happens on a basketball court. We feel tremendous sadness and loss for Chauncey’s family and those who were close to him.”

Hardy averaged 12.5 points for Sacred Heart in 2009-10.

They’ll head to Portland on Thursday night to try and put the Trailblazers away, but they’re going to need their star player to be a bit more aggressive, especially when it comes to going to the hoop.

Dirk Nowitzki is often labeled as a soft player because he’s a seven-footer who stays on the perimeter, but that’s his game and we’d bet on an NBA spread that says he’ll likely go down in history as the best European player to lace them up in the league (so far, anyway). Nowitzki is averaging 26.2 points and 7.2 rebounds through the first five games of the series, but he’s shooting 41.8% from the field, and you get the feeling that would rise if he tried to go to the hoop more, especially on the road. At home, Nowitzki is putting up 28.7 points at a 40% clip, but he’s averaging 13.7 trips to the foul line. On the road, Nowitzki notches 22.5 points on 44.7% shooting, but he goes to the line only 5.5 times per game.

Away from home is where you need your superstars to carry the load, and in Game 6, Nowitzki has to make a conscious effort to get the ball to the rim and more importantly, get to the foul line. We know he can shoot from outside, that is always going to be there. But going to the line stems a team’s momentum and takes the crowd out of the game, and the crowd is a massive factor in Portland, so Nowitzki has to put that on his shoulders tomorrow night.

Those checking out the NBA spread haven’t seen Toronto as a favorite often this season (16 times, to be exact), but the Raptors are in a rebuilding period, so there wasn’t much expected out of this young team. But things could be changing, and that means moving out their former No.1 overall pick.

Many expected Andrea Bargnani to flourish with Chris Bosh gone, and the seven-foot Italian has averaged 21.8 points, a career high. But Bargnani, who was the No.1 pick in the 2006 draft, isn’t a factor on the glass with 5.3 rebounds, he doesn’t block shots, and he is as bad a post defender as there is in the NBA. Some compare Bargnani to Dallas All-Star and former MVP Dirk Nowitzki, but the German was always a better rebounder and defender than his Italian counterpart. General manager Bryan Colangelo, whose job is also in question, may be ready to end the Bargnani experiment if he can get someone to take Bargnani and his contract, which still has four years and $42 million left. That could be the biggest obstacle in Colangelo’s (or whoever the Raptors’ GM may be) way.

The Raptors have a very good core of young players, such as DeMar DeRozan, Ed Davis and Amir Johnson, so losing Bargnani probably wouldn’t hurt them that much. They have the talent to make up for his offensive game, especially DeRozan, and he’s a black hole when he gets the ball anyway. Defensively, the Raptors aren’t great, but Bargnani is a liability that Johnson, Davis or Reggie Evans usually has to cover for, which can get them in foul trouble. If the Raptors can find someone to take Bargnani’s huge contract of their hands, getting rid of the Italian may be the best thing to strengthen their rebuilding process.

The Portland Trail Blazers appear to be a team on the cusp in the Western Conference. That is, until a slew of injuries started taking their toll.

At the beginning of the last two regular seasons, people betting the NBA spread felt that the Blazers could be a real dark horse in the postseason. As we are halfway through the 2010-11 season, those same fans are wondering whether the Blazers will ever be the same.

For a second straight year, the Blazers have lost center and former first overall pick Greg Oden for the season. While he was supposed to be one of the key cornerstones, the other, three-time All-Star Brandon Roy looks like he’ll never be healthy enough to be an All-Star again.

Roy is dealing with some serious knee injuries that aren’t just going to cost him a week or two of action; it could cost him his career.

He quite literally has no cartilage left in his knees and has missed 32 of the team’s 55 games this season. As of now, the best case scenario is he plays sparingly when he does come back – maybe serve healthy minutes off the bench – and play just 65 to 75 games a year in that role from now on.

It’s a huge blow to Portland, especially when you consider the emergence of power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. With an entire healthy roster, there really isn’t much missing off of this Blazers squad. They have big men on the inside, excellent guard play, a solid point guard in Andre Miller and plenty of depth. But the reality is that injuries play a big part in sports and the Blazers simply haven’t been healthy over the last few seasons.

Considering Roy’s knee situation, it doesn’t look like they’ll ever get back to being that promising team they once looked like they’d be.

I hope your summer was well. I have been extremely these last months, so I apologize for so few post. Other than hibernating, I’ve been working on completing the 2010-2011 Pro Team Contacts, however, many leagues are just updating their websites for league play due to the 2010 World Championships that were held in August for the Men in Turkey and starting now for the Women in the Czech Republic.

This summer, I assume everyone has been working hard. Now for those in high school and college, its time to focus on school first and get prepared during the pre-pre season for your next season. Workouts in the gym and weight room are important. Plus one of the most important, stretching because you can avoid many injuries during the season by stretching!

I’ll see you soon with some goodies! If you are on the list, you should have received the free basketball workout plan! Good luck

The WNIT Tournament teams have been announced yesterday. This year 64 teams will be allowed and starting March 21st, the regionals will host the games. Unlike the NCAA Womens Tournament, the WNIT has more trouble with TV coverage. Therefore, local channels are likely to broadcast the games.

View the first round schedule.

I suggest watching the WNIT online with a satellite tv program on your computer. Using free websites are ok, but they are slow, sluggish and not exactly worth the time in my opinion.

For March Madness I was able to get a discount $20/off the normal price of $49.99. You can not only watch the WNIT but also, NIT, NCAA Mens and Womens NCAA Tournament Online
