The WNIT Tournament teams have been announced yesterday. This year 64 teams will be allowed and starting March 21st, the regionals will host the games. Unlike the NCAA Womens Tournament, the WNIT has more trouble with TV coverage. Therefore, local channels are likely to broadcast the games.

I suggest watching the WNIT online with a satellite tv program on your computer. Using free websites are ok, but they are slow, sluggish and not exactly worth the time in my opinion.

Will The Real Winner of the Hops Shoe Contest Stand up?!

This is amazing or everyone is busy. But the Hops Shoe contest still does not have a winner. If you check the last post the first winner and second winner was chosen however no one responded. So, what am I going to do. The first person who replies to this post (former contestants only) will be the winner of the Hops Shoe Contest. If no one responds, I’m going to sport them myself .. LOL..

Now that March Madness and the NCAA Championships are over, the winner of the Hops Shoe Contest has been selected. Thanks for all 32 contestants however, only one was chosen.

NCAA Race to March Madness 2009

With many school rivalries going on and the nations top players being awarded prestigious awards makes March Madness more interesting. NCAA D-I rival teams may range from UNC vs. Duke to Georgetown vs. UConn which has been some of the most exciting games in history. The NCAA Basketball Tournament is the most watched college event other than the BCS Championships. With teams throughout the NCAA D-I playing their best for a chance to earn a spot in the 64 team tournament bracket makes the conference tournaments very interesting. In past NCAA tournaments there have been many underdogs that have made it far in tournament play if not winning the NCAA Tournament.

March Madness has been one of the most anticipated sporting events other than the NBA Playoffs, Superbowl and FIFA Championship. Mens Final Four will be held in Detroit this year while the Womens Final Four 2009 will be held in St. Louis where the most competitive games will be played. Many #1 teams in the past have been upset in the early rounds of the NCAA tournament mens and womens. When teams win their conference’s championship they automatically earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. While many teams earn a spot in the tournament by their team’s ranking in the Associated Press (AP) Rankings. So stay tuned for more information on the NCAA tournament for both mens and womens games and tournament births.

Olympics Coming To A Station Near You

I’m really excited to watch the Olympic basketball games in a few weeks. After watching the US Mens Basketball Team play against Team Canada, I could see that they are strong. However, I’m doubting their inside play against the more bigger international teams like, Argentina, Spain, China and Germany. There is no question the guards are ready and the hot shooters. I recommend everyone tuning in and watching the Olympics basketball on television just to get an idea of the international game and players. The rules are different in a way and a lot of calls like “traveling” violations and carrying the ball. The FIBA rules and officiating take close measures and in the USA we can get away with a quick first step, especially in fast breaks.

On another note, I’ve noticed some former NBA players are now considering more the option to play basketball overseas because of the difference in salaries, especially in regard to the Dollar (USD) being much weaker than the Euro. In the next couple of months, I’m sure you notice and read about it. I mean low end NBA players, not the stars!

Anyway, I encourage you to watch the Olympics basketball tournament starting August 9th! Here is the Olympic mens basketball schedule and womens olympic basketball schedule.

Spring Cleaning With A New Design!

If you’re a regular reader, maybe you notice a little change Yes, I ‘ve done a little Spring cleaning and designing! Its a relatively big change in color and design but is been over more than a year since the last redesign. I had some trouble with some plugins and scripts (techie talk) but overall it was a painless changeover. Quick change list

March Madness Brackets 2008

My Georgetown Hoyas are back in it again. March Madness has begun and the 2008 NCAA Championship brackets are finalized and ready to start action. Last year, Georgetown made it to the Final Four and lost against Ohio. I think there odds are even more positive this year. They only lost one player last year, Greene to the NBA draft. All of their seniors are back and ready to fill their engines back up.

Right now many websites have March Madness challenges and NCAA basketball predictions for the 2008 Finals. If you’re looking to make bets with your friends or fantasy picks its great to look at the current March Madness Bracket and the last couple of years bracket to compare. Like I said about my Hoyas, they have a line up seniors and it is a good chance they will go very deep into the NCAA championships this year. At Docsports a website that offers NCAA March Madness spread and odds information for this years tournament, is great for information and betting if thats what you’re into.

I love March Madness because it is always full of surprises. Basically everyone throws out the regular season because this is a whole different ball game. I’m looking forward to the March Madness Schedule and the scores.

Surprise Coming Soon

I’ll have a new surprise soon for everyone. Well within the next two to three weeks. I won’t say what it is but hopefully everyone will and can benefit from it! As of lately I’ve been working on updating the Basketball Contacts for the 2007-2008 season. Little by little that is coming together rather smoothly. Also, I’ve been redesigning several basketball websites.

The Women’s Basketball website that I launched in June 2007 is doing exceptionally well. I can’t be more proud of its growth and popularity during the past four months. We’ll I’ll leave it at that. Enjoy!

p.s. I’m getting ready for my BIG BIRTHDAY .. and I won’t put how old but its a pivotal AGE!
