I’m sure you that you have lots of basketball highlight videos on your hard drive or maybe on DVD. I know recently after purchasing my Macbook pro I decided to make use of cloud services such as Dropbox.com to upload and back up my media files. I don’t serve any important documents on cloud websites but video and images for sure. Even though most computers come with sufficient amounts of hard drive space, but overtime it gets clogged..

I suggested to my family the same. I use Dropbox specifically because with their service you get 2GB free and it can be syncronized with my computer and iPhone. For me on the go its great so I recommend that you guys check out Dropbox!

With many school rivalries going on and the nations top players being awarded prestigious awards makes March Madness more interesting. NCAA D-I rival teams may range from UNC vs. Duke to Georgetown vs. UConn which has been some of the most exciting games in history. The NCAA Basketball Tournament is the most watched college event other than the BCS Championships. With teams throughout the NCAA D-I playing their best for a chance to earn a spot in the 64 team tournament bracket makes the conference tournaments very interesting. In past NCAA tournaments there have been many underdogs that have made it far in tournament play if not winning the NCAA Tournament.

March Madness has been one of the most anticipated sporting events other than the NBA Playoffs, Superbowl and FIFA Championship. Mens Final Four will be held in Detroit this year while the Womens Final Four 2009 will be held in St. Louis where the most competitive games will be played. Many #1 teams in the past have been upset in the early rounds of the NCAA tournament mens and womens. When teams win their conference’s championship they automatically earn a spot in the NCAA tournament. While many teams earn a spot in the tournament by their team’s ranking in the Associated Press (AP) Rankings. After both USA Men and Women Basketball Teams brought back home the GOLD Medal for the United States I’ve been on a bit of a break. But now its time for full swing of the new 2008-2009 basketball season overseas. Signings for most countries are almost complete and the seasons will began September-October. I will be updating the Pro Team Contacts for the 2008-2009 season and should be completed by October.

This summer there weren’t too many exposure camps out there due to the Olympics so hopefully next year I’ll have something more to bring to you in the Spring.

I’ve been getting several good emails questioning basketball overseas. So that everyone benefits I’ll be answering all questions unless they don’t overlap. Here is Round 1 of Basketball Overseas Q & A for AGENTS.

How does the player represenative gets his money? Is there ever an instance when agents do not get paid!

In all cases in the FIBA rules regarding player, team and agent, the Agency gets paid by the team/club directly. Never does the player pay you nor should you request money from the player.

I am a new agent and find myself dealing with a lot of players wanting to go overseas, I don’t really know what are good teams and how to get my guys exposure? Do i send tapes and when I look up teams on the internet they are all in other languges? Please help me out with this….

As an agent one of the first and most important things you must do is make good contacts. Contacting and partnering with other agents in other countries who know the system, know the teams and the language. Once you find a reliable partner you will send him/her your top players and they will find teams after which you both split the commission from the player’s contract.

What are the steps to becoming an agent for overseas….I have a player that has been invited to play ball in Turkey, Istanbul Besiktas…is t here an agent requirement with this league and if so what is the process.

As I said above it is better to have a contact in Turkey so if a problem arises you’ll understand the system and law if need be. Jurisdiction in other countries are different and if you’re not a citizen you’re not able to fight any battle without a proper contact.

The name of this service is Rebtel and how it works is you connect to another phone without the use of a computer. First you must sign up free with Rebtel and then after you must register with your primary phone number. This can be your home phone number or cell phone. If you have a cell-phone plan with unlimited minutes I would use that number. If you don’t go ahead and use the house number for your primary. You will be designated a Rebtel phone number and depending where your friends are they will receive a local phone number which they can call you and which you can call them.

I had several problems understanding how it worked when I first got started but it is a breeze now. It is as simple as this:

1. You sign up and you place all of your phone numbers which you can be reached.

2. Your friend signs up with their phone number and they will receive a Rebtel number

3. You put your friends normal phone number in your contact list and your friend does the same for you.

4. You both will be given a rebtel phone number which is a local number for you to connect without charges (depending your phone plans).

5. Now that you have your friends number you can call them and they will have to call you back on the number that is assigned to you. It will be local for them if they for example live in another country.

Not only that you can get news in your language if its not English that you speak or read.
