I am a basketball player. I played in high school in Saint Louis MO, graduated in 2005. Played two years in Juco (meramec community college in St.louis), I then went to Oklahoma Panhandle State University in 2007-2008. Unfortunately I had to leave there and for 2008 I went to Maryville University of st.louis but I was unable to complete my last season because i was unable to afford school there. I played 5 games of my serior year. However, I was wondering if there was anyway I could still play over seas even though I have not completed college. I play point most of the time but I can play 2,3,or 4. I am 5'8, 160. I just love the game but I'm kind of at a dead end right now because I cant finish school until I pay off my tuition, I cant coach until I finish school and I can't play because I am not in school...so if there is any information you can give me that will keep me playing basketball or at least just be around it that would make my yr.
Thanks,
Ce

@ Gavin - It would be best in your case to find an agent or play in some type of camp this Spring in Europe.

I am a senior at a University in California. I have been playing basketball since I was nine years old. I played league basketball for many years, played for Junior High School, and High School where I have many awards and MVPs awards. Then I was veing recruited and because my SAT scores werent adequate. I accepted a recruitment to a Junior College where the politics began. The coached pursued me for months and emailed me incessantly. She said that I was needed on her team. I did not expect to go on the team and get a starting spot because other girls had more seniority. I played a pretty good amount of time for a freshman. All during the first year, the coach promised that I would be a leading starter the following year. I thought we had a good repoire and I worked really hard at becoming an even better basketball player. By the time the second season started, I was a starter and the point guard which I have played for most of my life. But something changed, the coach became chummy with two females who were good players but they were not as good as I am. At first, the coach, the other two females and I rode on the van with the coach when we had games. But as I continued to run the score up on the scoreboard and became the leading scorer, something changd. I was no longer welcome on the van and had to ride with the Freshmen and new girls. Next, I found myself on the bench with little playing time and the two females the coach was chummy with stayed in the game and never got better. Even when I hit 38 points in a game against the best team in the our league the coach did not put it in the news paper. The little time she would put me in the game I would outscore her two top players. She would put their name in the paper but not mine. I asked her why I was being punished and she said I had an attitude. I never talked back to her, always respected her and the team, always was a team player and could take the lead and help take the team to a win many times when we were down. I am very humble. Iam very quiet and shy and am only aggressive on the basketball court. I found out later after I grasuated that she had done these things to me so that I would not outshine her two buddies on the team. She wanted to make sure they would be offered scholarships and she knew if she had let me build my stats the scouts would have been scouting me. I almost didnt get a scholarship, but one of the Univerisities that had scouted me when I was a freshman came and offered me a scholarship because he said he knew my skills. My skills were even more honed but I did not fight it when I was on the bench most of the first year I was there because I knew other girls had been there since their Freshmen year, so I worked really hard on my own and exceptionally hard during practice during my second year there, to no avail. This coach also has his favorite girls that he plays all the time. I am a senior and if I were a sorry player I would not complain at all. Most of my teammates know how good I am and when the coaches are not looking they tell me so and even ask me for pointers. I assure you that I am not arrogant or cocky. I get along well with my teammates and coaches. Sometimes I think that I get no playing time because I am one of the only ones who never complain and I am shy and quiet. I am so stressed out. I love playing basketball and am pursuing a B.A. in Liberal Studeies so that I may earn a teacher's degree so I can teach school and coach basketball. I will minor in kinesiology(hope it's spelled correctly}. But before I start teaching, after graduation, I would like to go over seas and play ball. I am not giving up this easy. I can be a force to contend with on the court. I just want to prove myself. I have little stats(except in High School) but I would be willing to walk on anybody's court overseas and show them my skills. I just dont know how to go about doing it. Can you please help me? I'd appreciate it so very much, Sincerely, Jatarra Pryor
