I know back in high school my basketball coach focused on a little sports hypnosis if you will while working on free throws. I guess it wasnt totally hypnonis but focusing on seeing the basketball in the hoop before shooting is a good Psychological mindset to follow. Anyway this hypnonis article by Dr. Jack Singer is worth the read! Enjoy :)

Can Sports Hypnosis Work for You? Part I
Dr. Jack Singer

Get an inside look at the power of sports hypnosis. World renowned expert, Dr. Jack Singer, will give you all the details about sports hypnosis and how it’s worked so well for professional athletes!

There are so many myths and misunderstandings regarding hypnosis, that the tremendous advantages of the use of sports hypnosis for any athlete is often overlooked. Hypnosis and self-hypnosis are actually commonplace occurrences that most of us engage in on a regular basis without realizing it. How many times have you noticed that when you are driving, you are surprised when you arrive at your destination without noticing the familiar scenery or landmarks along the way? It was almost as if you were driving on automatic pilot, while your conscious mind was focused elsewhere. This highway hypnosis is an example of going into a trance while your eyes are wide open, similar to an athlete using self-hypnosis during a game.

And think about all of those times in school when you were in a boring class and found yourself daydreaming or thinking about your girlfriend or boyfriend. This mental visualization is also a type of hypnotic state. So, most of us actually have been hypnotized thousands of times without realizing they were engaging in self-hypnosis.

However, our sports history abounds with fabulous examples of athletes using hypnotic and self-hypnotic techniques to overcome adversity and enhance their performance. Sports hypnosis experts, like myself, have taught hypnotic techniques to athletes in literally all sports, to enhance such important dynamics as intensity, focus, consistency, concentration and anxiety control.

More specifically, as a small sampling of my own success using these techniques with athletes, I have accomplished the following with hypnotic techniques:: football quarterbacks developed imagery, footwork and anxiety control during oncoming rushes; basketball players increased their free throw percentage, police Olympic shooters dramatically increased their accuracy, tennis players skyrocketed their intensity, confidence and strength during changeovers, golfers learned to ignore past errors and stayed in the moment on each hole, hockey players learned to visualize setting up scoring plays during their shifts, and athletes with chronic, debilitating pain learned how to actually eliminate their pain!

In future articles, we will discuss specific sports hypnosis techniques, post hypnotic suggestions and positive affirmations that have proven extremely successful in specific sports.

LetMePlay basketball organization is organizing a basketball camp in August for Pro Players (male and female).
There will be worldwide famous coaches (including strength and conditioning coaches) and scourts coaching the attendant players.

Here are some of the advantages of our camp for the players and their future professional career:

1. Being in an international atmosphere lets them perform their abilities in front of coaches and journalist coming from all over the world.
2. Having lots of international teammates gives them an opportunity to value themselves with the players from different countries.
3. The games played with the local teams give them an idea about the level and status of the basketball of the hosting country.
4. The coaches attendingorganizing the camp are very good opportunity for them to learn different tactics and develop different ideas in the form of game structure.
5. The opportunity of presenting their talents in front of the coaches, scouts, managers and journalists is probably the best part of such camps letting them being introduced to the whole world.

Players from 14 countries have participated our camp so far. I will interview the most successfull players of the camp and post their statistics and interviews to Eurobasket.com and at least 2 more local websites. The very successfull players might even have the opportunity to have scholarships.

Most guys at least who reach the height of about 6″0 can probably dunk the basketball. If you’re very athletic it comes a lot easier to dunk even if you’re 5″9. At 6″2 I dunked the basketball “once” that was when I was in top shape and lifting weights like crazy. Dave Moore has a system for all you ballers that haven’t reached the rim but have come close. Well even if you can touch the net you are only inches away from dunking the basketball.

My buddy Dave Moore almost promises that you will dunk sooner than you’ve probably been hoping. Its really not difficult. Head over to his site to read the dunking tips to be unstoppable!

Going up strong is no hype and you can become the best rebounder also. Take a look at his site:
