I am surveying because there have been a number of request about how to send out a tape and getting people to see your game. I can’t stress this enough but only you can determine your success better than anyone else.
With the current technologies it is very easy to convert your vhs games to dvd and send it off to many places almost cost free. Why? If you pay for the hardware and software it will pay itself off in no time. No worries about converting from NTSC to PAL (european standard). Its amazing more people haven’t done this for themselves. Paying someone over and over again can get expensive. To send a cd/dvd to europe is very cheap compared to vhs. Especially if you have to overnight it.
I am planning a big video tutorial for everyone on the mailing list. This will cover everything from setting it up and sending it off. You might not want to miss this 🙂

On the same note as Sylita. I purchased a moviemaking software for myself just less than a week ago, so that I can send a tape off to area colleges, scouts, etc. It costs a little over $100, but like she said, it will pay itself off in no time. For someone to do it for you, your talking about 100-200 minimum, and then it all depends on how much footage and music you want too. I’ve inquired on all this personally, so I’m firm on what I say. To do it yourself, has so many benefits. You do it the way YOU want, you do it at YOUR pace, you put whatever music and special effects that YOU want, and you pay $100 or a little more for something you can use over and over your whole life. It’s really worth it. But, don’t be decieved, it’s not easy to put together. It really takes ALLOT of time. I’ve spent countless hours in less than a week going through game tapes, finding the right highlights. It takes lots of time, but little by little everyday, you’ll be finished in no time. It’s so much fun doing it for yourself too. Your the boss, and it’s done to your taste. If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me an email, and along with Sylita, I can help you get started and send off your tapes too.
It does take a while to put together a hilite tape. I have been doing it for a few years now, and it doesn’t get any easier. I do not have many new games so the stuff I use is from 3 and 4 years ago. I have 2 VCR’s and tape everything myself. I have one tape made already and I just keep copying that everytime I send out a tape.
The problem is my hilites are so old and I keep copying the same tape over and over so my hilites are becoming more fuzzy and full of static to the point where I don’t know if the person watching it, can really evaluate my game.
Tape to DVD would be much easier and I would love to know more about it. I did catch a glimpse of that Oprah show-that was crazy!!
I am still home waiting on a team. Opportunities keep coming up and then going away just as fast. It is very frustrating.
Keep me posted…..
Be sure to send me the info.
Sure no problem! I will send info about it and it should help a lot players and also parents who are interested in getting their kids game in front of the best college scouts!
I will add updates when its close to ready!
